RE: DeadWood

I appreciate all the suggestions. Avoiding the area during bike week is a big one for us. I expected August might have been crowded so we may have to settle for the month of September. I had rather be caught in snow than in a crowd. Of course there is always next June if push comes to shove. Thanks again.

DeadWood

I know there will be varying thoughts on this but I am curious as to what cg's you like/dislike in the Deadwood SD area. We are spending three months on the Outer Banks this spring/early summer and then planning on another two to three months in this area. I am thinking of waiting until the Sturgis bike rally is over and kids are back in school before arriving. We want full hookups and don't care whether pull thru or back in.

RE: Will pipes freeze overnight?

When we plan on travelling during cold weather I just leave the thermostat on 40 for the furnace not the heat pump. It gets cold here but I have never had anything freeze up.

RE: Factory Tours

We are taking our fiver up to Elkhart the first of October to MorRyde. I have had enough worries with bent leafs and broke spring hangers. While they are installing the IS and disc brakes we had a factory tour planned for Brinkley. A few weeks ago we had the chance to inspect a new Brinkley toy hauler. While the inside looked nice we were not that impressed with the rest of the unit. I have cancelled our tour and we plan to spend the rest of our time sight seeing and museums. If you are interested in the new models of Brinkley they are still accepting dates for early October.

RE: Help with Refrigerator Decision

I have had several different rv's and all but the one I have now was elec/propane. My current one has a 23 cubic foot Frigidaire in it and I will never go back to propane. My stays plugged in year round and since my batteries charge while hooked to the truck long distance travel has never been an issue. We don't boondock so that is not an issue either. However if we did need to boondock I could hook the pigtail up to the truck and keep the batteries charged. I never expect to do that though.

RE: looking for a camp ground in eastern N. Carolina for winter

I would do the below for a extended stay. Cg is more centrally located to larger cities and is very quiet. https://raleighoaksrvresort.com/

RE: The Ark

Second one for Whispering Hill. It is a nice cg and only a short drive up to the Ark.
